Been kinda quiet from up your way!
I have seen some of the white diffuser strips that have yellowed.
That's a result of UV (sunlight), the same problem that causes those
brown looking dial discs that you see occasionally. I guess these are
units that have sat in a bright sunlit room, or??? I believe window
glass absorbs most UV, so maybe they were used outdoors or in windowless
rooms!?!?!?! You have seen a LOT more units than I have, but I've only
seen one or two like that.
There is no way to reverse the yellowing. I'll do some research and
see if I can come up with anything. Seems like someone was using the
white area of the "FOR RENT" signs from the hardware store. Let you know!
