Perhaps I should point out that for most boatanchors, er, vintage radios, I still prefer incandescent pilot lamps. The light from LEDs seems too "pure", and just doesn't replicate that warm glow that we all love. The TR7, with LED illumination, gets lots of comments to the effect of "that's really cool!" from other hams who have seen it. The LED illumination just seems to "fit" with the styling of the 7-line.
My Onkyo TX5000 stereo receiver (circa 1980) has a couple of burned-out lamps, and I'm leaning towards replacing them with original incandescent because the dern thing is just so beautiful the way it is, I think LEDs would be a downgrade. Well, it does have a tube in it, of sorts - a vacuum fluorescent digital frequency display... 73 -Jim NU0C _______________________________________________ Drakelist mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist
