Certainly. Just drag the whole System Folder into the trash, shut down, attach the
CDROM (or simply restart if it is attached already), the computer will start up from
the CD and you can Attempt the installation. Again, the installer is not supposed to
see a valid System folder at all.
If things don't work out well, e.g. the installer still would not run, simply drag the
System folder out of the trash back to where it was before and restart.
