Make sure you have the right power adapter. The originals, the ones that
were designed for the 280, can't handle the requirements of the color
screen in the 280c when coupled with the type III battery. You want a 36
watt, M2693 or M 4174 (preferrably the latter), not the 25watt M7783.
You'll get boot problems and failure to charge the battery.

You may also need a new battery though..

NiMH is a type III.

You may want to grab a copy of DuoMon. I'll send it to you if you don't
have it. It will give you all sorts of battery info on your specific
battery and tell you what the charging current and power usage are.

A duo is a very tricky little beast and you must divest yourself of any
habits you acquired using a desktop Mac. They don't like to be experimented
on.
