Hmmm....maybe I missed something in the replies.  The 230 screen shows the 
same problem?  If I caught it correctly, on the 2300 display, there is a 
stripe which fades out after a period of time, right?  Is it vertical or 
horizontal?  Roughly what is the position of it (LH side, RH side, 1" off RH 
side, etc.).  Could be a flakey logic board and/or VRAM dying.  If it is heat 
related, try heating the logic board with a hair dryer (not TOO hot, now!) 
and cooling off chips in the video area with coolant spray (RatShak).  This 
will isolate a temperature related problem and may let you isolate the chip 
that is flakey.  Email me off list and I'll take a look at it tomorrow PM.
