Okay...I give up...

I went back in and disconnected both power feeds
coming from the pram battery.  then reconnected them
after 15 minutes (sufficiient reset/drain time?)  and
followed the reset/power cord/li-ion battery procedure
multiple times. No avail.  GLOD, although
inconsistant..some times just CLICK-DEATH.   Oh what
to do??  DT&T?  HAs anyone tried them?  Honest
evaluation?  Will it cost me an arm and leg?
