Thanks for the info, Willie (and Ralph). I just emailed Tekserve, the outfit
that told me to go to Apple with my repair for $395. I asked them if they'll
install a battery I provide.

This disassembly stuff is giving me stomach acid even though I'm not
faint-hearted. I had a fairly easy time working on the other computers in my
stable.
