I did a cursory inspection and I didn't see anything, but I'll check it more
closely when I get home. I really need a magnifying glass.
I was trying also trying to determine if the frame should make contact with
the motherboard at any point. The only place that was obvious was on the
underside of the frame where it looks like it is supposed to make contact
with the metal housing around the serial/printer port.
I also removed the "batwing" heatsink just in case it might be causing a
short. No difference.
I noted that where all the pins for the PDS connector pass through the
motherboard and are soldered on the underside, it appeared as if some very
minor corrosion occurred. I THINK. It might also have been a lot of dust had
collected. The inside of the Duo was rather dusty. It's as if the Duo had
been standing on edge with the rear door flipped open and dust was lowed to
settle in over a long period of time. I did take a toothbrush and tried to
clean those pins. Is there anything I can use to clean the motherboard or
remove corrosion if it's present?
