His was the post that I remembered. I think we finally got all the info in
one place - now I just gotta execute it!

I suspect that the bonding of the wire to the strainrelief is part of the
problem - think, it forces the jacket to stretch and finally tear right
where it exits the strainrelief. With the knot and some slip through the
strainrelief I don't think the problem will repeat.
