Common problem. Tho I don't always agree with Steve J., I do believe the floppy is close to dead. I use a Zip drive, haven't used floppies in a while except for my Sony Mavica camera. Must have 3-4 floppies awaiting alignment in the junque cabinet (notice I've upgraded....the junquebox is now waaaaay too small.) Also, if you have a floppy that shows ANY errors at all during the format procedure, TOSS IT. For several years while (much) younger, I made a nice side income recovering data from recalcitrant floppies & HDs. I've gotten to the point that I format twice, write once for anything more than common data. You DO have backups, RIGHT?? <<wink, wink>> Grins & cheers!
