Well, I was too lazy to reformat a MO disk or partition, but I did try and boot from an OS 7.6 CD and it wouldn't load. I'm trying to remember if the original 7.6 load used enablers back then for the new Macs, i.e., the 2400. (Checked...nope)
I just did a check through the Apple's site on the Knowledge base...and didn't find much. I'm wondering if you could install 7.6, the run the 7.6.1 updater which came out after the 3400. There is no 7.6.1 installer, so you've go to go the update route. If anyone has their original emergency startup diskette, they might look on there and see which system it is using. You might just try using FinderPop with 8.6 for the greatest stability. >Dear Gurus, > Responding to my inquiry if a 2400c with a 240 nupower upgrade >would run with 7.6, Mr .Mawyer wrote: "I would swear that's what my 2400 >shipped with...thought my startup >CD has OS 8 on it.
