Donald, I have System 7.6.1 and a bunch of old apps sitting on an 820 mb SCSI drive in an external ADB powered case. Yes folks, I keep my kid's old 68040 Performa 636 (for the ROMs if I ever want to run Mac emulation on a half sized web cam Sony Viao [when it goes over 1 ghz], and to remind myself once in a blue moon how BLAZINGLY fast System 7.6.1 can run compared to OS 8.x). In several ways this is not such an outmoded idea. If no one answers definitively I'll dump in the Newer G3 extensions and give it a try on one of our Newer G3-240s.
