It means U either have to start off with a formatted disk from a PC, or a blank disk in your Mac and use it to format it as a DOS disk. I cannot remember when that ability started in Macs, the ability to format disks in DOS I mean, but I *think* as long as U are using 7.1 or above it should do it.
