One additional note to formatting PC disks on a Mac.

When you want to RETURN to Mac format, for a PC disk (floppy, Compact
Flash,...) there is a small workaround needed.

** Note: Reformatting always removes all data **

If you wish to reformat the PC disk as a Mac disk, you may find you
need to temporarily disable the "File Exchange" Control Panel.

I find File Exchange seems to not offer a Mac formatting option for
PC disks. (are others finding this too? - MacOS 8.6, File Exchange
3.0.1)

To do this, you will first need to pull the "File Exchange" Control
Panel out of the "Control Panels" folder, leave it on the desktop or
elsewhere, restart the machine.

Then insert the PC disk, which the Mac will now not recognise, and
will ask to reformat or eject. Select reformat (no PC options now).

Replace the "File Exchange" Control Panel in the "Control Panels"
folder, and restart.

If anyone knows of a better way to temporarily disable this control
panel, please say so, as above is a little time consuming.
