As a user of both the DXbase telnet and packet windows I agree that both should be kept. As an aside - there is an apparent problem in DXbase's telnet client which was discussed and confirmed several months ago in this list. The problem manifests itself if the telnet session is disconnected either by some network problem or disconnecting the telnet session in the DXbase telnet window. If this happens you will see your computer's CPU usage become 100% in the Windows Task Manager. You will also probably see a performance degradation in other programs that might be running on your system due to the 100% CPU utilization. Other telnet clients that I tested other than DXbase's don't induce the problem. I'm running DXbase 2001 and I think this problem was confirmed by others with later versions. I'd like to see this problem resolved in future DXbase versions as the telnet client will see more and more usage with the proliferation of broadband cluster connections. It shouldn't consume 100% of a system's CPU resource if a telnet session disconnect occurs. 73 Phil NA4M -. .- ....- -- -. .- ....- -- -. .- ....- -- -. .- ....- -- -. .- ....- -- Phil Duff NA4M [EMAIL PROTECTED] Georgetown, Texas
