I have exactly the same problem.
I think it's the GC but i can't understand why there is no processor usage ?
When i start GC manually there is 100% processor usage.
My system memory is not at the limit so there should be no swapping.
It mostly happens when i switch back from another window
(like Internet Explorer) to IntelliJ.(It seems that IntelliJ memory usage
grows while it's in background)
