We have significant clearcase delays.  This is why I use a snapshot view.  No such 
delays propagate to IDEA.

(as an aside, it is ironic, that Rational is now selling a stripped down version of 
clearcase that provides only snapshot views).

Dynamic views are too painful to use with intellij or any other editor for that 
matter.  
Our vobs are on unix, and I think that contributes heavily to the slow-down.  From 
what I understand all-NT Vobs & views are significantly faster.
