If you have been receiving nasty messages in private from subscribers of 
this list, then might I suggest that you cut short this type of behavior 
by posting the message to the entire list.  Regardless of what they might 
say about you, the negative reflection will be entirely on them.  This is 
a form of exposure which tends to make people think twice before they 
post nasty and hurtful personal messages off list.  Abusers tend to like 
privacy as a cover for their abuse -- exposing their behavior for public 
comment is a powerful disincentive.
