Dear Sewa,
Wow! Wow! I am so glad you wrote to liberate these issues; what a warrior
for truth you are! In accordance with all you have said, I also have said,
somewhere that has become lost in this debate, that we should look at the
seriousness of how this process has served the right-wing and global
corporations in discrediting 'sexual harassment" and discrimination to the
American people. I believe that, because multi-nationals have a tremendous
liability due to the fact that sexual harassment law recently allowed "toxic
workplace" cases to explore past policies and practices, and past activities
of men towards women, Starr, in conjnction with the corporate republicans,
have deliberately found a way to discredit sexual harassment and
discrimination in the workplace, by linking it to a "scandal" that did not
havethese components, but was upsetting to many Americans, thereby making any
woman who would claim sexual harassment think again and again. They have
succeeded, in my opinion, and I think this is very ugly. Basically, Monica
Lewinsky, who never was sexually harrassed herself, has become the "poster
baby" of what will happen to a woman if she claims sexual harrassment. People
think I'm silly to keep bringing this up, but it is really important. With
this suit against Clinton, I am sure that thousands of cases have just died,
for lack of the plaintiffs wanting to be exposed in the horrible way Monica
was.
Thank you for your astute comments!!
Jane
