Well, that would be the case for most vendors OTHER than n-software it seems :)
I did just now contact n-software for their IP*Works! EDI AS2 Connector which, as you say, is $499. They have free standard email support which I'd be reluctant to use, and instead would rather opt for premium support (of course it costs more than the software licenses themselves at $599).
