I've got a P3 coming, and just downloaded the manual. If I understand correctly from the diagram on p 13, the RS232 path is Computer--->P3--->K3.
Currently I have a "y" cable plugged into the K3. The cable from the 'puter plugs into one leg of that, and the other leg goes to the SteppIR control box.
