Hi Ted, I tried to make the same move with the Mac but ended up going back to a dedicated Windows machine. I use Parallels as the virtual machine. It works fine. It allows you to run each Window's program in a separate window on the Mac screen or you can run all Windows programs under one window. If you are just running one Window's program it works fine but once you start multi-tasking it can be a problem particularly if the programs are graphic intensive or memory hungry. I often found the computer slowed up too much and gave up on the idea hence the stand alone computer.
