Receiving double sideband AM with offset tuning has some unique audio equalization requirements since the low audio frequencies are boosted by 6dB due to the partial remaining sideband.

Agreed, but when, for example, trying to fish out weak signals from NA (10kHz steps) between strong EU stations (9kHz channels) on MW, sometimes one does want to shift around the passband. Audio quality is not so important in this case. Many times SSB is better, but sometimes not.

At any rate, I personally would prefer to see the bandwidth in terms of RF bandwidth and not AF bandwidth.
