It's only complicated because you don't know it yet. When Mac OS X have outgrown OS 9, where will you be if you don't dig in now? Besides a few issues that I hope will be fixed soon, OS X could potentially be the first OS that a consumer could use without major problems. Apple do have to smooth out some rough edges first, but for the majority of people that hire me, Mac OS 8 and 9 was not an easy OS to maintain (even if Windows was harder, but that's no feat). After all that's why they hired me in most cases.
There are tricks in OS X, just as in OS 9. You only have to learn. Your unwillingness to learn is not an argument against OS X per se, it's just an excuse you're entitled to use to stay in OS 9. But for your customers or peopel you work with, don't be surprised if someone that really know OS X comes along and show them that most, if not all, your negative sentiments about OS X was no more than fluff. Then, where will you be?
