Correct

The SMTP server and the POP server are potentially two different
servers... so you can't blanketly say that what is in the SMTP server
field is what goes after the @ sign. You need to enter the DNS for your
POP server after the @ sign (for some ISPs the POP and SMTP server are
the same... for others they are not, you need to find out what YOUR setup
is).

>e.g. for the account I'm trying to setup it would be:
> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

right idea... but given the example here, I would say it isn't going to
work (1: it is unlikely, even for Microsoft, that they have a DNS entry
with the word "smtp" in it for a POP server; 2: macsmtp.mail.msn.com
doesn't exist based on a DNS lookup, so it is unlikey to be correct in
any event, although it might be on your isolated ISP network if they are
not running it on an external DNS server)

>Or should all of this be in the "User Name" field of Baton Mail?

You are dealing with POP (incoming) mail, so Baton Mail shouldn't be part
of the setup. Baton Mail assists with SMTP (outbound) mail only.
