So what you would do is, export both address books as Tab delimited, then open both in Excel, copy all of one and paste it into the other. Then use Excel's data sort to sort the addresses to lump all the duplicates together (sort on the email address itself). Then just go thru, and delete the duplicates.
When you are done, save as Tab delimited, and import that back into Emailer. The mail database is MUCH trickier. If there aren't too many messages, follow Roger's advice and use the redirect feature.
