Hi Bill and Philippe- Actually I have a Umax Vista V6 Scanner with an old version of OmniPro and the problem is that when I went up to 9.2.2 on my B&W G3 I could not find a Driver for it since Vista only went to 9.0 I think. But if a G4 is better then maybe I should go that route instead of an IMac with the flat screen. I have a program for doing prevention and rehab. work as well as ordinary counseling applications, addictions, marriage problems etc. and it has a lot of line drawings. My DeskTop Pub. friend wants to help me professionalize it since it is in manuscript form. So she is going to give me upgrades for Adobe products, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign and also a new MS Office app as well as the Adobe PDF maker/reader app so we can communicate with the files for my program. I draw the symbols etc. and she professionalizes them, sends me back copies for my Master files. So, according to what Chris said I apparently do not need a super machine like the G5 which I cannot afford anyway. So what do I need is what I don't know. She has a G4 but wants to upgrade to G5 because she does a lot of graphics work, animation and stuff but I don't need this. So what do I need, a G4 or IMac or EMac is my problem. I intend to see the computer shop Thurs. and see what kind of deal they will make for what I owe in their attempt to fix my G3 and save my data and what they will sell me a new machine for. What to do with my old stuff I'm not sure except to follow the advice of Chris which I am leaning towards. My wife thought that if there was any hope of fixing the G3 she would take it for her use.
Speaking of addictions, my attachment to Emailer is what started this whole issue and there is no Emailer Anonymous therapy is there. Can Mail or En'rage really fill the void?
