In OS X go to the System Preferences, select Startup Disk and then select your Mac OS 9 System Folder, hit the Restart button. Now, assuming it does restart properly, which it should as you are running OS 9 in Classic, check out printing from any application in Mac OS 9 after choosing your printer in the Chooser. You might want to rebuilt the Desktop before trying to print. BTW, did you ever rebuild the desktop file of OS 9? (-> System Pref -> Classic -> Advanced -> Rebuild Classic Desktop). If it does not work here it will not work in OS X. Fix this problem, if there is one, and then you can restart into OS X. Let us know what happens.
