Eric, your quotes of the emails you're replying to are getting 
corrupted.  Not a big deal, but it does make it a bit confusing to read 
your emails.

In a previous email you said position-cmd was -0.502 (or so), and then 
you got a following error.  The hm2 driver reads position-cmd but never 
sets it, so something else must be setting it or something is horribly 
broken somewhere.

If you start it without hardware and counts or position-cmd changes 
without you explicitly telling it to, that's a run-away.
