Why even try to get people to switch their currently working Arduinos to Linuxcnc? You'll find that most of the strong opinions on this matter come from those already selling the hardware and software kits to the open developers. FDM/GGG has limited applications in additive manufacturing since it is so slow and also low resolution. The market for these is becoming saturated and sales are slowing down after leveling. Manufacturers don't take GGG seriously due to all it's limitations.
I don't think anyone will try to use Arduinos for hybrid printers that combine multiple deposition techniques, multiple materials and multi-axis stages. 3D printing or additive manufacturing goes far beyond todays glorified glue gun fad. IMHO Linuxcnc should focus on what it does best vs getting sidetracked chasing after a passing FAD. > IMHO LinuxCNC being open-source is not enough to get people to switch > from their currently working open-source Arduinos solution.
