I have built & installed the new halio.so, with the compiler fussing about
a missing gl.pc, but the GL/gl.h file is there.
And I just went to the above link and re-pulled the three other files, but
it refuses to run with the ./camview-emc-float.py as the EMBED_TAB_COMMAND.
It prints this on the console launching linuxcnc -l
Starting LinuxCNC...

LinuxCNC terminated with an error. You can find more information in the
log:
/home/gene/linuxcnc_debug.txt
and
/home/gene/linuxcnc_print.txt
as well as in the output of the shell command 'dmesg' and in the terminal
Those two files are wasted, containing no usable information, and this is
the dmesg output for an attempt to run.

Unforch I know very little about python other than every time I have a
failure, it refuses to tell me why it failed. I have no clue how to enable
a debugging trace in python. If I use camview-emc instead, then it runs,
but without the emc.halio stuff, not even a tab. But it did run for a day
with the older halio.so.
Then to add some insult the camera is here 1 day late, and while an lsusb -
v outputs several pages of info that all looks kosher to me, the system
does not recognize it as a camera, no /dev/video# is created. That may be
something on this machine since I'm running a newer, PAE kernel on this 8Gb
box, so I'll go try it on the machine it has to run on tomorrow. Except
for the camera, all the rest of this is running on the machine it will run
on.
Can you help with this?
Thanks.
Cheers, Gene
