As I'm looking into this issue, I found a possibly related quirk with a
recent build. Occasionally on my P4 box, it stops halfway through without
reporting a constraint violation, but the position in the GUI is "nan" for
X, Y, Z. I'm doing a bisect now to figure out the source of it. Once this
bug is squashed, my plan is to start a stable branch from this point to
isolate more experimental changes.
