For UL Recognized Components (R/C), the mark may be on the prodcut or the smallest container. It depends on the product catagory. For example, most AMP connectors are R/C and marked on the box but not on the connector itself. If your question is, when I sign up for UL's follow-up services am I legally required to apply the mark? I say no because the UL, CSA, TUV, etc. marks indicate your product meets certain requirements. I am sure UL would like to take your money for engineering and follow-up and never have their mark placed on your product. That would save UL a lot of dateline interveiws if your product was blamed for causing a fire. Remember the Halogen Torchiere fires. >When looking at section 1.7 in IEC950 the primary informational label >seems to be the power rating label and agency symbol/mark is not >mentioned as required information. I don't have IEC 950, but EN 60950 and UL 1950/CSA 950 both require the power rating label, unless it is not connected directly to the supply mains.
