Hi Bob, Agency markings are not a requirement of the applicable standards, but rather internal agency requirements. Some agencies feel that this is a useful service to the end user, since it facilitates traceability. Other agencies do not have mandatory marking requirements.
In the case of CSA, all CSA Certified devices, whether complete products or just components, must incorporate the CSA Mark. Exceptions are allowed, of course, when a component is physically too small, for example (in which case, the marking would go on the packaging). Regards, Egon Varju
