Both replies are correct and accurate, but I would add – because the UL 6500
standard is ‘harmonized’ with the IEC 60065 standard, at least to some
extent, it IS possible to declare compliance with the LVD based on compliance
with EN 60065, BUT – you must do a comparison between the UL 6500 and EN
60065 standards, and take into account national deviations for the Member
States, in order to draw a conclusion of compliance. AND, just because it
complied with UL 6500, I don’t think it necessarily complies with EN 60065.
However, it might, and you may be able to accurately use the UL report as a
basis for your DoC through engineering rationale, rather than a complete new
evaluation / test program.

Correct, but when you have a CB report prepared - by whomever - that report is
based on IEC standards not UL, BSI or whatever. UL's report format is very
"CB" looking in format etc, and is only for the US (or North America if its a
bi-national standard). In the reference section you will see either UL65000
for a UL report, or if its a CB report it will state IEC 60065.

Check to see if it says, CB report or UL report - and you'll have to pay for
each even though they are very similar.

NO

There are no UL standards listed in the LVD.

If a product has been CB certified by UL, using UL60065 for LVD, is it valid
and permissible to quote UL60065 on an EU declaration of conformity?
