Times have changed. Back in late Eighties when I was working at an EMI lab, considerable time was spent in maximizing cable related emissions, just to make sure that the EUT does not fail. Some of our key customers also encouraged this practice. The main reason was that FCC could request product sample for testing at their lab, and no one wanted to see the product fail during their testing.
