I do not agree. Directives are addressed 'to the member states', not to companies or individuals. They need to be transposed into national law to become effective. Usually, the date on which the new Directive has to be cited on DoCs is specified, e.g. for the new EMC Directive it is 20 July 2009 for everything other than fixed installations, which don't need a DoC. But no such date is specified in the new LVD. However, there is a relevant provision in Article 14 of the new Directive: QUOTE References made to the repealed Directive shall be construed as being made to this Directive and should be read in accordance with the correlation table in Annex VI. ENDQUOTE From this, it can be deduced that there is no specific date set for DoCs to bear the reference of the new Directive. But that could change. -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
