I believe that the point has already been well made. This is a codified version of the original Directive and its subsequent amendments; in other words it is a house-keeping exercise. Yes, we should refer to it in any new DoC, but it specifically states that any reference to 73/23/EEC will be taken as a reference to this directive, so there is no need to rush off and update our DoCs, just quietly use 2006/95/EC from the 16th January. I do wish the EC would do this more often rather than have Directive xxx as amended by Directives aaa, bbb, ccc, etc, etc. Life would be so much easier if there was always just one place to go for just one document.
