DoCs, manuals, and other documents that are, or should be, controlled by the
regulatory manager must be subject to a formal ECO system. If you publish
any construction drawings, manuals, DoCs, test certs, etc, they should bear
a revision and some type of control or reference number.

Do not allow the sales people to run this. In general, my employer makes
these documents available on request for 'standard' models, but the sales
person must only download from the document control system. Another thing I
recently started was to put an expiration date on these documents. You never
want to send a file where the bits have grown mold.

Subject: DoCs on the Internet

Recent threads about Declaration of Conformities has prompted a general
question I would like to get you expert's opinion on.

What are the pros and cons of publishing DoCs on the Internet off your
company's website???

On the surface it seems like it would be a good idea; especially since the
information on the DoCs can change from day to day. But I have found it to
be extremely rare to find DoCs on the Internet. How come?? Do you think this
will change in the future?

I anticipate all replies.
