Hi Scott

In relation to EN60950-1 & EN 60065 Annex ZA details normative referenced
standards such as EN62133 and how to determine the revision to utilise.

If using a Harmonised standard to assist the demonstration of conformity to a
EU Directive the OJ should be used to determined if it is still valid. If a
appropriate standard for your product is not detailed in the OJ you may as
appropriate use International & National standards etc. A European standard
approved by CENELEC has the status of a National standard in member countries.

If using a European Standard not listed in the OJ the status of the standard is
generally detailed in the standard itself.

Best Regards

Matthew

Scott & Matt,

Thanks for your information. Should we consider in this way that for product
scope in EN 60065 or 60950-1, the effective date should follow the publication
in OJEU and for batteries, DOW of 10/01/2016 is applied as per standard stated.
Currently EN 62133 is not included in LVD or GPSD - of course we cannot find
any reference from OJEU.

I didn't see a similar note in other country national forewards that I could
find.

Hi Jody

The dow date is 2016-01-10; so 10th January 2016 for EN62133 for conflicting
National standards to be withdrawn.

Best Regards

Matthew

Hi Scott,

I actually thought the dow was in October. Where did you see the July date? I
do not believe it is any Directive as most batteries are outside of the scope
of the LVD. You will find in end product standards and it is required for CB
Scheme.

8.3.9: Design evaluation – Forced internal short circuit only applies to Korea,
Japan, Switzerland and France.

It is not clear about the enforcement of 8.3.9, because that is country
difference. Can it be enforced for the EU?
