It's not that I declined, it's that I already have 3 other CNC machining 
centers from the late 90's in our shop that operate this way, so to have this 
one run opposite of those, would mean that I would have to start buying 
indexable holders by the pallet for every time they crashed the one that I 
programmed.

Rick knows that - he has his machines set up with Z=0 at the bottom
of travel instead of the top.  He has already declined to follow my
advice to fix that :-)

I think the remaining options are to try using remap to do this, or
to change task/motion to support a new kind of tool change motion.
