I have a new disk under construction, but it will be most of the day due
to the fragility of a .03125" end mill even though its just barely long

one instantly at 5 ipm digging 3 thou deep in brass, so its down to
about 1 ipm & making brass powder now. I have made it about 1/8" larger
in order to get the opto's clear of spinning mounting bolts, and after
checking the runout of the return spring holder, and made the center
hole about 3 thou bigger that it is, figuring I can if I have to, slide
some reynolds wrap into the gap at the right place to improve the
concentricity. I might even skip the bolts, and drive a shrink fit ring
onto the spring holder and put a couple drops of superglue to hold it to
both. Jury rigging to be sure, but with the motor cover re-installed,
nothing is going to touch it to disturb it.

I need a vacuum plate to hold this stuff flat, a std table clamp at the 4
corners of the starter sheet, with some thin 5 ply under it for
sacrificial, is warping it about 6 or 7 thou up and down. First
scratches said the slot duty cycle was way too wide, so I stopped, reset
it to 2/3rds of the starter value, looks decent, but this is one of the
reasons I've made several of these before, and put pots to adjust the
led brightness to try & get a true 50% square wave from each opto.

New, different opto=whole new game & rules. More later. :)
