So, you need to not mount them at 0.1" centres.
You could glue them into holes in a non-plated board and solder wires
to the legs.

This seems less trouble than making a new wheel to match 0.1" spacing.

Alternatively mount A&Z on a different board to B and mount B on
slotted holes. 5.25 spacings is nearly as good as 1.25 spacings. (the
further apart the optos get the more you notice imperfections in your
disc)
