I buy the K360, which does not even have the touch pad, however I am used to the nuisance of a mouse. The K360, like the k400 (IIRC) is that it has square keypads with no &^&mutter, mutter(*# taper to the sides of the keypad, so swarf only jams a key maybe 5% of the time compared to some super fancy $30 keyboard whose key sides are tapered, allowing swarf to follow the key down, and then wedge into the taper and hold it down. It would be even better if we could buy a skin for these keyboards, but the people selling the keyboard in this neck of the woods look at you like you switched to swahili or something. I wouldn't say this neck of the woods is backwards, but if the shoe fits... There are hot keys to do almost everything, and I should get practiced up at using them correctly. > The > keyboard has a touch pad in lieu of the mouse, which I use > occasionally, but almost never while using LinuxCNC. As do I, but need to remember how to adjust the jog speed from the keyboard when the keyboard is being kept warm by the y motor its balanced on top of while setting it up to do the next job. > > http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005DKZTMG > > There are silicone keyboard covers that do a good job of keeping shop > grunge out of the keyboard, but the keyboards are so inexpensive that > they could be considered disposable. > > On 04/08/2016 05:50 PM, Ormund Williams wrote: > > Is a more keyboard focused GUI available, so I don't have to add a > > mouse or other pointing device? > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >-------- Find and fix application performance issues faster with > Applications Manager Applications Manager provides deep performance > insights into multiple tiers of your business applications.
