OTOH, it also says its a Broadcom 95788, and my data is apparently outdated as I wasn't aware they were making wired ethernet stuff. When I hear Broadcom, I automatically think radios, as in wireless, and in my experince, troublesome. My bad I expect, time marches on. Now I think we need to see your /etc/networking/interfaces file, the whole thing.
