If you use an aly blade it is much cleaner and the hand held is ok. I have
tried several oils but Ilocut 154 by Castrol is still 200% better than
anything else. If I get a clog in a milling cutter, I drop a bit of Ilocut on
it restart the spindle and the move slowly forward. Almost 100% of the time
the oil frees the coldweld blockage.

Slow the blade down. I'm using a 12" and ended cutting 200 cuts on average
40x100 mm long and the blade still is as sharp as ever. Bosch MuliMaterial 12"
around $75.

I too looked at these but I hardly ever cut steel. I do a lot of SS and then I
use my bandsaw. I have a medium size hydraulic one with a coolant feed and it
cuts SS and Cast Iron like butter. It was just that it took too long with aly
and I then had the pile of swarf to contend with. The biggest problem is
waiting the 2-3 minutes between cuts. Not long enough to do any other job in
the mean time. SS being a bit slower allows me to run the mill in the
background.

I ended up using the Mitre/Slide saw and only used the slide operation.
Pressing down on the handle firmly made it track very smoothly. PS I created
around 8 ft3 of swarf.

The Milwakee is a sturdy machine and I can recommend it.

One comment I has was to filter the motor air intakes to stop the swarf
getting inside. Need to do this the next time I cut.

The cuts I made were very clean. I was using a triple tooth blade as is known
here. ATBR ??

Happy cutting.
