We do. It depends on how long you want the blade to last. I have used
cheap HF sliding miter saws with really nice non-ferrous blades like
these to cut aluminum plate up to 3/4" and extrusions to ~4".

Nice blade $100-150 that last for hundreds and hundreds of cuts.
