Ah, I thought you meant the not being able to C&P into pinentry. My apologies! With respect to Thunderbird+Enigmail popping up pinentry windows when a new message is received, but before it's opened -- that's actually on Thunderbird, not Enigmail. When Thunderbird receives a new email, it puts it through the processing queue and allows plugins to transform the text. Enigmail is one of these transform engines.
