This is what I have had to do to get it to work. I recently made the same
move from Cisco to Enterays.

First of all don't be afraid to use your support. They are completely
awesome. No long waits just call them and you will have an answer within
minutes.

I have not found that I need to disable CDP. Eneterays can read CDP packets
just fine. They call the protocol CiscoCP

Anyway here is what I do.

Set the Native vlan on the cisco side to your management vlan and set your
Cisco port to trunk.

If you are uplinking 100Mb Cisco ports to the Enterasys switch hard set
linkspeed and duplex to 100full on both sides.

Set the Enterasys uplink ports vlan to the same vlan.

        set port vlan ge.1.1 1

Set the Enterasys uplink port to spantree admin

        set spantree adminedge ge.1.1 false

At this point you should be able to ping across the link if you have given
yourself an IP.

To setup vlans on the Enterasys switch you will have to create them
manually.

        Set vlan create 2,3,4,5,6

Then you will need to set the egress for that vlan on the uplink port.

set vlan egress 2,3,4,5,6 ge.1.1 tagged (if port 1 is your uplink
port)

Hello,
I believe you will need to turn off CDP on the Cisco for it to work
correctly?

Hello All,

Until now, we have been a Cisco network. We recently purchased
Enterasys switches and I am having trouble getting them connected to our
Cisco network. Does anyone have any experience adding Enterasys
switches to a Cisco network?
