Well, as soon as I installed office I simply went to the Help menu and
selected "Turn Assistant Off". I have not had any problems related to it
since then. 

I can't say that I have had problems with it on either, but I rarely have it
on. As I said, the first thing I did was turn the fella off, with no
difficulty.

D�nes, are you unable to turn him off in the manner I described?
